This is an incredible couture level 1950s dress that has the avant garde "sack dress" lines. The textile t is made of is just amazing - a truly beautiful silk that has that rich, luxe weight to it that only the best, highest quality silks have. Onto this is a velvet fused design suggesting spray of young buds. The color and play in texture is stunning. The dress is a fitted under dress with a full. voluminous overlay attached attached at the neckline. It buses and puff over the bodice with a flat bow to give a suggestion of a waist. The back is cut almost as a square panel if fabric. It only retains it hotel boutique label. Hotels did their own customs designs for tourists during this time and also brought in pieces from the great designers. The level of work and quality to me suggests it was a custom or a very high end piece that has perhaps lost its second label. Very chic, very rare and in excellent condition.
